High blood pressure, often known as hypertension, is a condition in which the blood pressure is higher than normal. Your blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day depending on what you do. Blood pressure readings that are regularly higher than normal can lead to a diagnosis of high blood pressure (or hypertension). The higher your blood pressure, the greater your risk of developing additional health issues like heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.
Hypertension can occur as a result of a lack of regular physical activity, diabetes, obesity, & pregnancy. All this can lead to serious damage to the heart, brain, kidneys, and eyes, however, you can manage your blood pressure to lower your risk of serious health problems.
